BARRELS OF RED Hasn't raced since 21/06/2008. Although has trialled for flat. Was scratch in last entered race.
TOULOUSE LAUTREC Fell at Flemington on 5/07/2008. Had 26 weeks off after this. Ran 3 flat races in 2009. Last race on 18/02/2009 he came last. He seems to be schooling here.
JUST MY HITE This horse is the smartest horse in the jumps industry. At Warrnambool on Sep 23, 2009 he had jumped a few steeples and then came up to one in the home straight, and decided…."bugger it, this is a muggs game" and then ran around the side of the jump, dislodging Adrain Garraway. I can't imagine what "coaxing" he has gone through to make the trainer, Fergus O'Connor, think he will be right for this one. He's schooling.
PORT PHILLIP Trialled at Pakenham on 21/04/2008 and subsequently had 35 weeks off. He has run a few flat races this year, but hasn't placed. Appears to be schooling
TAHITI GOLD Had 29 weeks spell after a steeple race 14/5/2008. And raced 3 flat races since early December. I assume he is schooling here, but odd that he is doing it over the hurdles.
SHINKO DANCER Nothing to say, this horse looks fine.
WEEPING WILLOW Last jumps race on 31/05/2008. Has had a couple of flat races this year(no places).
SIR PENTIRE This horse has not raced since May 2007. He has been scratched a lot in trials this year (both flat and jumps), and has performed poorly in those he has attended(last in both). He seems to be an old jumps horse as he fell at the Hiskens in 2006. He doesn't have a jockey assigned so I would not be surprised if he gets scratched.
ZEPHYR SPEED He is mainly a flat horse, he won a race on the 17/01/2009 but the last two flat races he was in he came at the end of the field. He is schooling here, from what I can see he has not run a hurdle race.
AWAKENING DREAM Has been a flat horse, looks like they are trying to make him a jumps horse. Appears to be his first jumps trial.
KINCHARM I could be wrong, but this horse looks like it came to Robbie Laing recently. And they now want it to be a jumps horse.
BAY HAWK Qualified on Warrnambool on 17/02/2008. As it is a you horse, he has not raced much, but has never placed in a race. I assume the trainer thinks this horse is not a good flat horse so let's see how it goes over the jumps.
MARSCAY'S IMAGE Last hurdle race was on 26/07/2008, where he essentially came last of the finishers. The year he has raced in 5 races that were over 2kms. He must be schooling.
GO ON JUMPHe had his second qualification on 13/02/2009. Although I don't know why he qualified as he was clearly jumping through the jumps at Stony Creek. Perhaps schooling.
TIME TO ROAR This horse is not flat racing well at the moment, As with the other horses mentioned he qualified at Stony Creek, but was clearly jumping through the hurdles.
HONOUR THE FORCE A new horse, qualified at Stony Creek, although I don't know why as he was clearly jumping through the last hurdle.
QUILTER This horse is a bit of a concern. He was in a hurdle race in 05/2007 and then spelled for 48 weeks after this. Last year he did not enter a jump race, but did trial on the 24/06/2008, to which he subsequently had another spell of 24 weeks. He has flat raced a few times since December, but why trial him when something appears to happen to him after each jump event?
LIQUIDITY This horse appears to be schooling
SEA LIONS In his only last hurdle race in 2007 (and maybe his first) the stewards commented: "explained that the gelding travelled and jumped well in the early and middle stages, however when put under pressure passing the 800 metres, failed to respond to his riding and weakened from that point, and in his opinion did not stay the distance of today’s race."
MULTIJET This horse is going for his second jumps qualification, he got his first at Yarra Valley this year.
BIG NOISE He is schooling. But appeared to be jumping through the hurdles as Stony Creek on 13/02/2008.
PENTIFFIC This horse first trialled at Casterton on 05/05/2008 over the hurdles, then was spelled for 18 weeks. I think this trail is for qualification. He ran 11th of 12 in his last flat race (18/02/2009)
CHARMING ONE This horse has not been entered in a formal race since June, 2007. The trainer appears to be trying to ascertain what this horse will be good for as in 2007 he has had 3 flat trials, and come last each time. So let's just see if he can become a jumps horse then.......
PRINCE VITALITY This horse is a long distance horse and has had varying flat form. He trialled for hurdles in Sep 2007 but hasn't seemed at all interested in the Jumps. As he has not got a jockey assigned I would be surprised if he actually went on Tuesday.
COMAAGE A TROIS This horse had about 12 weeks off after a jumps race in August, 2008. Seems to do quite well as a jumps horse.
RONDAHL New horse to jumps, so is trialling to qualify. Had first qualification on 17/02/2009.
ELADNICUL This horse had a year and a half off after a hurdle race in 2005. He trialled over steeples in 2007. He is schooling here. It looks like his trainer, Rhonda Mangan, is trying to get his fitness up to race this year.
MAINBRACE New, young horse. Would be surprised if this horse turns up.
GALILEO FIGARO Another new, young horse. Had his first qualification at Yarra Valley (01/2009).
OUR TALULLA Brand new, will be her first trail.
HOPLITE This horse did quite well last year, only falling once, and winning some.
PRIDE OF PINS This horse had 3 jump races last year. This year he has raced in 2 flat races, both of which he came last.
BOLD AS BRASS New to jumps.
IT'S A DUD Charming name for any living creature. Has his first race week since having a year and a half off after a steeple in Ballarat.
ENCLOSED Just qualifying so he can be a jumps horse.
KERMIT Get it? Kermit, a jumper!! Going for first qualification.
GREAT MASTER New to jumps. Going for his second qualification.
